Quilt Stockings

I had a good amount of leftover quilt top bits from my quilt coat, and it's Christmastime now so what better way to "waste not want not" than making stockings!
Some patchworking of the patchwork was required to make pieces big enough (and in good enough shape) to cut stockings out of.

Didn't have any batting on hand but I did have some thick white flannel. I used two layers of the flannel as "batting" for each side of the stocking.
Used coordinating pink and blue linen scraps to make the backing and lining (one stocking pink, the other blue)

The tops are bound with (not bias) binding made from pieced scraps.
The original quilt had wavy quilting, so I used a fun stitch on my machine to replicate it.

Loops are 10" pieces (folded in half for a 5" loop) of light yellow vintage rayon velvet I snagged a thrift shop once upon a time. Easy peasy and CUTE!
Unrelated to sewing these, but funny — the previous owners of our house left a hokey hook rack for "BELTS" in one of the closets. We'd taken it down and chucked it in a random tool drawer but I realized it would work perfectly for a stocking hook. Very hilarious to me 🤣
