Brioche Knit Vest

Loved the Purl Soho Brioche Vest so much that I put myself through the agony of knitting in brioche stitch for what I think was like my second real knitting project? 0/10 do not recommend. It does look flipping good though and I'm really proud of how well it turned out and all the unpicking I did to make it perfect!
Finished it back in 2018 but embarrassingly hardly ever reach for it — most of the time I'd just prefer to wear a full sweater (warmer), and the length/styling of it just makes me feel more meh than I was hoping.
Next time I would DEFINITELY make the neck just half the length the pattern calls for. I always end up folding it over (either to the outside or inside), otherwise it gets all wrinkled and scrunched around my face in an un-cute, messy way that just adds to the awkwardness.
BUT recently I finished a cool white overshirt and I think it might be the answer to all my comfort and styling questions with this piece. The folded over neckline isn't too obvious when wearing ruffles over top, I get a little extra warmth, and I don't have to worry so much about what to wear under the vest — it gets to play a supporting role to the overshirt instead of being the main character!
Here's to giving this 2-year sweater drawer lurker some time to shine!
